The winter is coming, and although we think everything will come to an end (both Westeros and The Game of Thrones), George Martin surprises us with the decision that Westeros is going to live… in the past at least. Here is what we know so far about the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel.
The whole story will be put in somewhere at the end of the Golden Age of the heroes and the beginning of worlds descending into its darkest hour. For those who didn’t read the books ‘Song of Ice and Fire”, this is the time when legendary ”Long night” occurred, the one that starved and froze to death most of Westeros’ population. In addition to that, this age witnessed the fierce battles between the White Walkers, their minions and the living.
Regarding the names that will be involved, so far we know that Jane Goldman (script) won the contest for developing the whole project. One of the lead actors will be Naomi Watts, who you might know from the movies (for which she was Oscar nominee) like ‘21 Grams‘ and ‘The Impossible‘. Josh Whitehouse from the TV series ‘Poldark‘ will be joining her as well.

The name of the series is not announced yet, but George Martin expressed his wish for it to be called ‘The Long Night‘, but at the end of the day, it`s up to HBO to decide. We will be waiting with excitement. Since the series is not going to be premiered until the Game of Thrones finale, we may expect it somewhere in the year 2020. Until then, we are to patiently wait for the final season of Game of Thrones on spring or summer of 2019. and hope that there will be enough dragon glass for everyone.
